Reut, 23 y.o., writes, composes and
performs her songs, in Hebrew and in
English. An amazing voice that hasn’t been
heard in this country for years. Some
predict she is to be the next Ofra Haza.
The first single “Crowned Is Your
Forehead” came out on November 2003. It takes
a lot of guts to do what Reut did to Avraham
Halfi’s most wonderful and famous
poem, and as it’s known to the public, “Crowned
Is Your Forehead with Black Gold”. “Wonderful”-for Avraham Halfi and “famous”-for Yoni Rechter,
Arik Einstein and Yehudit Ravitz. Reut
dressed the famous poem with new garments
not forgetting its outstanding past, its
hidden meanings and its status in the
Israeli Music Pantheon. The result honors
all who were involved and yet gives us a new
outlook on the most famous Israeli poem, no
less than “Jerusalem of Gold” and the
national hymn, “Hatikva”.
