In 2001
Motky Sherubini recorded
Karen Alkalay-Gut reading her poems. He
played the recordings to
Roy Yarkoni, whose album, "The Best of
What Dreams Are Made of" came out in Pookh
in the beginning of 2003 . Roy immediately
was hooked by the idea to write music to the
poems and brought Ishay Sommer along with
him (both are members in "Ahvak"). During
2002-2003 Roy and Ishay have been working at
their own home studios. Roy composed the
music and made the arrangements and produced
them with Ishay. Almost every music style
man has ever invented can be heard in the
background to Karen's vocal – classical,
jazz, contemporary, progressive, metal and
ambient.
